Mom and kids
We can’t think of a better way for a group of women to spend quality time together while improving the lives of others, seeing spectacular sights, even going out on safari. This trip has it all.
We promise you adventure, great food, and charming hotels and B&Bs. We will visit organizations that work to improve the education and work skills of disadvantaged women. We will visit several women who have made a difference in their communities. We will also visit an exclusive game reserve dedicated to the conservation and preservation of the animals and the communities around it. This trip will change perspectives and lives.

Elephants at game reserve
We start in Johannesburg, staying at a wonderful, woman-friendly hotel. This small, trendy boutique hotel has an organic cafe and a big fitness center right next door
In Johannesburg we will visit the vibrant townships of Soweto and Alexandra. You will have a chance to shop at craft stores promoting art and crafts of disadvantaged women. Before we leave we will tour the Apartheid Museum and visit downtown Johannesburg.
Then we are off to the majestic Drakensberg mountains where we will stay at a charming resort hotel, favored by locals, with sensational mountain views, swimming pool,
and easy walking trails right out the door.

Working woman near Didima
While in the Drakensberg we will visit Didima and learn about the Bushmen—the first inhabitants of
the area—and view some of their cave and rock paintings. You will also meet Miss Lillian and her family in a small Zulu village where they live with no electricity.
We visit the sunny, coastal city of Durban next, staying at an elegant hotel off bustling Florida Street.
Then it is off on safari—we leisurely drive north to our favorite game reserve where we will spend two full days with the animals. During the day we will search for cheetah, lions, elephants, and rhino and giraffe. At night you can have a massage on
your deck listening to the sounds of Africa, or enjoy a sundowner with the other guests.

Hotel in Knysna
Next we travel to the up-market Garden Route where we will stay in the local's favorite town —Knysna. But we will check out
all the small coastal towns like Wilderness and Plettenberg Bay. You will meet our favorite Sangoma (traditional healer) who lives in the township
above Knysna. She proves that one woman can make a difference.
From there we take the picturesque drive to Cape Town, stopping in one of the oldest towns in South Africa, Swellendam, for lunch.
In Cape Town we stay at the a famous hotel along the Atlantic seaboard. Here you will meet women from the townships, an Afrkaans
mother and daughter, and women entrepreneurs. We will also take excursions to Cape Point and Simon's Town (to see the Penguins), and Robben
Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for over twenty years.
All long the way you will have time to get a massage, take walks or workout, sit on the beach, tour interesting galleries and shops, and discover unique gifts to take back home.
